Definition : Implantable vascular clips designed for extravascular occlusion of intracranial vessels. These clips are typically small metallic devices that are externally applied to the vessels using dedicated appliers. Implantable intracranial clips are intended mainly to prevent and/or control bleeding (i.e., hemostasis); dedicated devices are available for occlusion of intracranial aneurysms.
