Germicides, Liquid, Hydrogen Peroxide

Definition : Liquid germicides, whose main component is hydrogen peroxide, intended for killing and/or inactivation of many microorganisms (e.g., viruses, bacteria, fungi). These liquid germicides typically consist of colorless liquid that is used as an active ingredient in disinfecting units where a disinfecting process (typically by immersion) under controlled time, temperature, and concentration is performed. Hydrogen peroxide germicide is used mainly to disinfect medical devices and supplies that cannot be heat-sterilized due to their sensitivity to high temperatures. Liquid hydrogen peroxide germicides can also be used in high concentrations for sterilization purposes.
