Definition : Carts designed for safe storage, transportation, and easy access of electromechanical, and/or electronic instruments and/or equipment such as recorders (e.g., electrocardiographs) and electrical stimulators. These carts usually consist of a heavy duty metallic and/or plastic open structure with a tubular angled frame that includes several shelves with a non-slip surface. Most carts include a set of extra-large (e.g., 15 or 20 cm/ 6 or 8 inch) casters, some casters have mechanisms (e.g., pneumatic) to provide a cushioned transportation. The carts may also include brakes, drawers, electric power outlets and/or strips; the carts may also be height adjustable.
